I’m Cindy, the “Librarian Mom,” and welcome to my blog!
I just love to read. It’s been a big part of my life, and I really owe that to my parents. My mom believed in making reading a part of our lives from the time we were born. When we were toddlers, she’d read board books to us and let us look through their pictures. And as we got into school, she’d sound things out with us in the paperbacks. Reading became a nightly routine before bed. I can’t tell you the number of things we laughed about and learned along the way.
Over the years, even into my adulthood, I realize how beneficial that was for me. Reading wasn’t just an entertaining way to kill time. It taught me a lot about different cultures, it expanded my vocabulary, and it led me right into my job as an editor. I’m a full-time mom now, but I work as a freelance editor on the side, and my whole job is basically reading.
I started this blog to tell you why reading can help your kids too. If you want to raise a family of readers but don’t know how to go about it, read on! I’ll give you plenty of tips on how to buy books cheap, make reading a part of your child’s routine, and make it fun. Good luck!
